Yasmina Taya graduated in law and business management in 1975 and in psycho-graphology in 1980. Her professional career began with journalism in 1976 on national television, where she worked as a reporter from 1975 to 1978.

In 1981, she and her husband founded a company exporting seafood products. In 2001, she was the manager of a family-owned car distribution company until 2012. In 2013 she became a consultant in management and corporate strategy.

Her activities are diverse, she was elected President of SEVE from 2009 to 2012, and then Honorary President from 2012 to date. In June 2007, she won the LAZIO economics prize between Europe and the Mediterranean, followed by the sustainable development prize for Africa by the Veuve Cliquot foundation in November 2007 in Reims / France. She was appointed by presidential decree as a member of the Human Rights Commission in which she was from 2006 to 2017 chair of the subcommittee on external relations and cooperation.
